  • This photograph included on page 94 of David Finney's book, "Images of America Howell", 2013, features a Tug-Of-War Women, Lake Chemung, Picnic, Howell, Michigan.  He reported that each September, an interclass activity among members of Howell's senior and junior classes took place during an outing at Lake Chemung.  The names of the persons and exact year are unknown.  It is estimated it took place in the early 1900's.
  • These photographs were taken when a garbage truck caught on fire on South Michigan, Howell, Michigan,  across from Zemper Studio, 1980.  The truck and garbage in the streets is noted, and also there is a picture of the City of Howell Fire Department truck.
  • This photograph was included in the Photographic Supplement of the "Howell Bicentennial History",  ppp. 310-11, and was captioned, "the first fleet of trucks sold in Howell.  Sold by Glenn Slayton to Ford Johnson to start his trucking firm, about 1935".

    The names of the persons in the photograph are unknown.  The "Mabell Shop" is a storefront also, with the mill in the background.

    In the David Finney book, "Images of America, Howell", this photograph is captioned as the last passenger train to stop in Howell, winter 1951.
